Perry County Woman Charged in Animal Hoarding Case

More than 100 animals have been rescued from a hoarding situation in Perry County. WYMT reports the Perry County Sheriff’s Office brought in agents from Kentucky Fish and Wildlife and staff from the Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter to help remove the 129 cats, dogs and exotic animals from the home in the Delphia community. Mary Elizabeth Coots is reportedly charged with second degree animal cruelty. So far all but seven of the animals have been taken to various area rescues.
