Petitions are due Wednesday to the Letcher County Clerk for those collecting signatures in an attempt to get a county-wide wet/dry vote on the ballot in November.
Last month Fleming-Neon voters said yes to the sale of alcohol in city limits joining Jenkins and Whitesburg.
But as a whole, Letcher is still a dry county.
Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Stines has been encouraging the drive to a ballot measure for November because under state law alcohol sales would support his department.
