Pike County Golf Course Could See New Life

The former Mountain Pub-Links Golf Course in Pike County could be coming back into play. Hazard contractor Jeff Norman of JLN Properties has reportedly executed a lease with the Pike County Fiscal Court to open the Elk Run Golf Course and plans to have it up and running by summer. He tells the Appalachian News Express they could have at least nine holes ready by June and maybe sooner. He says the main issue is it needs a new irrigation system along with new drainage, slopes, greens, sand traps and more. The deal calls for Norman to pay for all the repairs and the County to keep paying the lease.
