An alleged attempted carjacking has landed a Pike County woman in jail.
Police were called to a store on Zebulon where a woman claimed she was ambushed when
she got out of her SUV by another woman who tried to take her keys.
Mountain Top News reports Kentucky State Police and Pike County Sheriff’s Office investigators reviewed store security video and were able to identify the suspect as Darla Yates.
Yates is charged with attempted carjacking, assault and public intoxication.
If she is convicted, the carjacking charge carries a 10-to-20 year prison sentence.
