If you’re wondering what’s being built at Bob Amos Park, it’s part of the celebration of Pikeville’s bicentennial.
Organizers of Pikeville 200 tell the Appalachian News Expressvthe Pikeville 200 Plaza at the Cut-Through Overlook is going to be a permanent, partially paved public space with benches and native plants that encompasses elements like historical displays and a time capsule.
Pavers in the plaza can be bought and engraved in someone’s honor for $35 to $100 depending on size.
The deadline to buy a paver is December 1.
There’s a dedication ceremony for the Plaza on December 28.
