Pikeville Loses in Opening Round of Baseball State Tournament; Estill County Plays Tonight

The KHSAA baseball state tournament also began yesterday with 4 opening round games being played at Legends Field in Lexington. 

15th Region champion Pikeville lost to Louisville Trinity 2-0.

Russell County beat Simon Kenton 4-1 it was PRP over Larue County 11-5 and Lexington Catholic shut out Mason County 6-0. 

The baseball state tournament will continue tody with 4 more opening round games at Legends Field.

The other two mountain teams will play today.

13th Region winner Corbin will take on Owensboro Catholic at 5:00pm and 14th Region champion Estill County plays Hopkinsville at 8:30pm on Friday.

The other two games today will be East Carter taking on Ryle at 10:00am and McCracken County facing West Jessamine at 1:30pm.

The baseball state tournament quarterfinals will be Saturday at Legends Field. 

The semifinals and championship game will be next weekend June 14 and 15 at UK’s Kentucky Proud Park in Lexington.
