A Prestonsburg High School student has been arrested for making a threat that drew a
large police presence and put the school on lockdown Tuesday.
Prestonsburg Police say an official told the school resource officer that a potential threatening statement had been made by a student who reportedly claimed he had a gun in his backpack.
The student, whose name is not being made public, was taken into custody and is charged
with second-degree terroristic threatening.
Police say there is no evidence that there was ever a confirmed threat to the school, and no weapon was found.
