It’s another step forward for some higher ground housing in Jenkins.
At their latest meeting the Jenkins City Council voted to apply for about $5 million in federal disaster recovery block grants to help extend water and sewer systems to the proposed Jenkins
Grand View project which would build up to 115 homes between US 23 and downtown
Jenkins.
The Mountain Eagle reports the costs to build the actual houses will come in part from the state’s Team Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief Fund and HOMES Inc.
