Proposed KHSAA Football Realignment Would Bring Changes For Letcher County Central

According to Bluegrass Sports Nation, A total of 24 high school football teams will move classes for the 2025-26 seasons as part of a draft realignment proposed by the KHSAA Board of Control in their meeting on Tuesday. 

The draft still must be approved during the board’s meeting in May.

Of the 24 schools moving, 15 will drop in class and nine will move up.

As far as mountain teams, Harlan County will drop from 5A to 4A, Letcher County Central will from 4A to 3A and Belfry will drop from 3A to 2A.

Under the KHSAA proposed football realignment, Class 3A District 8 would consist of Estill County, Lawrence County, Letcher County Central, Magoffin County and Powell County
