You can learn more about the progress toward building a new Federal Prison in Letcher County at a public comment meeting later this month. As we reported Monday, the Federal Bureau of Prisons has a new Draft Environmental Impact Statement about the potential medium-security Federal Correction Institute plus minimum-security Federal Prison Camp would go on a reclaimed strip mine in Roxana.
