Recovering Substance Abuse Skilled Trades Training in Dickenson County

Some free and low-cost training in certain skilled trades will be available soon for those recovering from substance abuse in Dickenson County.

Officials say a partnership between the Dickenson County Industrial Development Authority and Mountain Empire Community College is using a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission designed to get those seeking recovery back into the workforce.

Enrollment is open to anyone 17 and older and you do not need a diploma or GED.

Courses include Level I Construction, Electrical and Welding.
