TJ Friedl hit a decisive two-out, two-run double in the sixth inning and the Cincinnati Reds rallied for their third straight win, 6-5 over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night.
Cincinnati has won eight of its last 11 games to climb within two games of the third NL wild-card spot.
The Reds are 38-35 on the season but still 7 games back of the Cubs in the NL Central. The Cubs have also won 3 in a row and are 45-28 tied with the Mets for the best record in the National League.
The Reds continue the three game home series with the Minnesota Twins tonight with a 7:10pm game time.
They will up the series with a 12:40pm day game on Thursday before heading to St. Louis to play the Cardinals in a 3 game weekend series starting Friday.
