SOAR is cutting the ribbon on their new Whitesburg office today.
SOAR – which stands for Shaping Our Appalachian Region – has their new digs on the third floor of the Whitaker Bank building on Main Street.
The non-profit economic development agency supports local industries and small businesses to help create higher paying jobs and encourage new careers.
The Mountain Eagle reports the new office was made possible in part thanks to a five-year, $40 million grant from the federal Economic Development Administration to help Eastern Kentucky residents get access to jobs and job training.
