Two major road projects are moving forward including one to help create a new-high ground community in Perry County. On Thursday Governor Beshear announced a $498,000 contract to build an access road to the Skyview high-ground community near Hazard, connecting the community to County Road 2156. Skyview comes out of 50 acres of donated land and is expected to be the site of about 150 homes. The other contract is for $40 million to complete the final section of the long-awaited reconstruction of U.S. Highway 460 in Pike County that started in May 2022.
