Two Wise County deputies and some Appalachia town workers are being credited with saving the life of a man who reportedly tried to jump from a bridge. The deputies responded to a 911 hang up call and found the man standing on the bridge threatening to jump. A Sheriff’s Office spokesperson says as the deputies used crisis intervention methods to dissuade him from jumping, he jumped but they caught his arms. The Sheriff says some private citizens and Appalachia town crewmen assisted the deputies.
