Several residents of Perry County and Hazard are still without water, or having to boil it, with freezing temperatures wreaking havoc on rivers, streams, pipes and systems. On Saturday the
City of Hazard posted about outages in Hardburly, Lotts Creek, Leatherwood and Left Fork Maces Creek which they said were due to tank management, keeping those areas at certain levels in order to keep from losing the entire system. They were using interconnects but pointed out many water systems are being challenged. Meanwhile the Hazard City Manager tells WYMT there are water system upgrades in line for 2024.
