Sheriff Mickey Stines Arraignment on Murder Charge Set for This Wednesday

Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Stines is set to be arraigned Wednesday for first degree murder for the shooting death of Letcher County District Judge Kevin Mullins.

Stines is being held outside of Letcher County at the Leslie County Detention Center and his
arraignment will be held in Carter County Circuit Court Wednesday at 11am.

Kentucky Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 27th Judicial District Jackie Steele has confirmed to
WYMT that he and Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman will work on the case with Letcher County Commonwealth’s Attorney Matt Butler recusing himself because of his personal connection to Judge Mullins.
