Six Inmates at Wise County Prison Indicted in May Assault on Correction Officers

Six inmates at Wallens Ridge State Prison have been indicted in connection with an
incident in May in which three corrections officers were assaulted.

Prosecutors say two of the officers were stabbed multiple times and the third assaulted in the incident that allegedly involved gang-affiliated inmates.

Mountain Top News reports the officers are all on the road to recovery.

The six inmates are indicted on a total of 66 felonies.
