SOAR Receives Grant To “Shore Up” Internet Access In The Appalachian Region

Help is on the way for some Eastern Kentuckians who do not yet have access to high speed internet. Earlier this year SOAR – which stands for Shaping Our Appalachian Region – got a $550,000 grant from the Federal Communications Commission’s Affordable Connectivity Program and now SOAR’s Digital Equity Team is looking to shore up internet access, access to digital devices and training. They say they want more people to have access to remote work possibilities as well as telehealth options. To see if you quality go to SOAR’s website: https://soar-ky.org/acp.
