PIKEVILLE, Ky. (July 16, 2025) –The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 12 advises motorists that embankment stabilization work using the polybag method is scheduled to take place on KY 3410 (Cram Creek Road) at mile point 0.375, near Old Kate Lane. This location is approximately 0.67 mile from KY 1862 (Pine Creek Road).
Work is scheduled to begin Monday, July 21, and continue through Thursday, July 24, weather permitting. Daily work hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 6:00 p.m.
During this time:
- Concrete trucks and equipment will block the narrow lanes for long intervals of time while repairs are being made.
- Flaggers and barriers will be used to guide motorists through the work zone.
- A detour is available via Crossover Road (a county-maintained route), but motorists should be aware that this road is extremely narrow and should drive with caution. Large vehicles and commercial trucks should not travel.
KYTC asks motorists to slow down, obey all traffic control signage, and use caution in the area while work is ongoing. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated as needed.
