Three Arrested After High Speed Chase in Floyd and Pike Counties

Three people are facing charges following a police chase through Floyd and Pike Counties on Thursday.

Kentucky State Police say it started around 4:30 am in Prestonsburg when a trooper tried to stop a car but the driver took off, going south on US 23 at speeds over 120 mph.

One officer reportedly saw someone toss a package from the car which KSP says contained nearly four pounds of meth as well as some fentanyl.

Mountain Top News reports when the driver started going into oncoming traffic, police
stopped the chase but they were able to track the car to a driveway in Shelbiana and
arrested three people from out of state for trafficking, fleeing and more.
