It’s taken more than a year, but three people have now been arrested in connection with the death of Amber Spradlin.
Spradlin had been found stabbed to death in June of 2023 at the Martin home of Prestonsburg dentist Dr. Michael McKinney.
On Tuesday, McKinney’s son Michael Kent McKinney was arrested and charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence, and Dr. McKinney and family friend Josh Mullins were
each charged with seven counts of complicity to tampering with physical evidence.
They are all set to be arraigned this afternoon.
Addressing the time it took to bring charges,vCommonwealth’s Attorney Brent Turner said in a statement that the Kentucky State Police Lab has an overwhelming number of cases to handle and investigators on the Spradlin case only started getting back test results on evidence in the last six months.
