Three coal miners have been honored for their contributions by being inducted into the Lynch Walk of Legends in Harlan County.
Gean Austin, Don Elliott and James Stewart were honored with signs on the Walk over the weekend.
WYMT reports Austin, who is still living, was one the first African American mining foremen in the US.
Elliot was honored for his 31 years in the mines and serving as a Lynch City Council member.
Stewart was honored as the Chief of Plant Protection and a Lynch Fire Chief.
