The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 12 advises motorists of upcoming roadway repair work scheduled along KY 931 South in Letcher County.
Contract crews with Guardian will be installing a polybag retaining wall at mile point 6.7, approximately one-quarter mile south of Cowan Elementary School, near the intersection with KY 2035. This work is necessary to improve roadway stability in the area.
Work Schedule & Traffic Impacts:
- Dates: Monday, February 23 through Friday, February 27, weather permitting
- Hours: Daily from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m.
- Traffic Impact: Equipment and materials will be positioned in the roadway, occupying the creek-side lane
- Traffic Control: Flaggers will be on site, and alternating one-way traffic will be allowed through the work zone
To minimize impacts on school traffic, work will not begin until after 8:00 a.m., and crews will pause operations in the afternoon to allow for improved traffic flow during after-school dismissal.
