Trial Delayed for Pike County Circuit Judge Facing Federal Charges

The trial has been pushed to the fall for a Pike County Circuit judge facing federal charges for mail fraud and theft of government funds.

On Tuesday a judge ruled that Howard Keith Hall’s defense could have more time to prepare and set his trial for November 10.

It was set to start next month but his attorney said the case was too complex to be ready that soon.

Prosecutors allege that while he was the Pike County Attorney, Hall paid an assistant about $440,000 but that person did no work.

Hall was indicted by a grand jury in April and is currently suspended from judicial duties.
