If you have a cane or walker you are no longer using, the UK Center for Excellence in Rural Health in Hazard and the Appalachian Center for Assistive Technology are holding a durable medical equipment drive this month to help those with disabilities who may be in need of it. They are looking for used medical equipment like walkers, canes, wheelchairs, shower chairs and other similar items. You can drop them off in the front lobby of the UK CERH, which is on Morton Boulevard in Hazard, this Friday from 10am-Noon. They say a dedicated team of employees and students at the UK CERH will refurbish the items and donate them to others in the community
