UK Football Cats Dominate Southern Miss in Wild Weather Affected Season Opener

The Kentucky Wildcats football season got off to a wild weather related start.

After a 2 hour and 20 minute lightning delay, the opening game against Southern Miss finally kicked off at 10:05pm.

The Cats held an impressive 31-0 lead when the game was delayed again by lightning just after the 3rd quarter began.

Both teams got together and the game was called final at that point and the Cats open the season with a shutout win over Southern Miss.

In week two, Kentucky will welcome the South Carolina Gamecocks to Kroger Field for an SEC matchup.

South Carolina won their opening game Saturday barely getting by ODU.

The Cats and Gamecocks will kick off at 3:30 Saturday with Pregame beginning at 1:30pm here on the Bulldog.

Tonight on the Bulldog we’ll bring you the Coach Mark Stoops Radio Show hosted by Tom Leach at 6:00pm followed by BBN radio at 7:00pm.
