Pikeville is cracking down on people who don’t pay parking tickets.
Last week the Pikeville City Commission voted to authorize the use of wheel boots to immobilize vehicles whose owners have three or more unpaid parking tickets more than 30 days past their appeal.
Officials tell the Appalachian News Express the point of parking enforcement is to encourage turnover of curbside spaces which are supposed to be for visitors, deliveries and quick errands but some people routinely park there long term.
