The University of Pikeville has been awarded a $1 million grant from the James Graham Brown Foundation towards construction of their new Tanner College of Dental Medicine.
Work started earlier this year on the College on UPIKE’s campus which will be the region’s first dental school.
TCDM is scheduled to welcome its first class of students in summer 2026.
Earlier this fall they got their initial accreditation from the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
They say their goal is to grow a corps of dental professionals dedicated to serving rural and underserved communities across Appalachia.
