UPike to Offer New Major in Medical Humanities

The University of Pikeville is starting a new major in medical humanities. The College of Arts and Sciences says starting in the spring semester of 2024, the medical humanities program will be aimed at those who would like to pursue healthcare support careers and will have interdisciplinary classes in public health, sociology, history and religious studies. Officials say the idea is to build a bridge between the art and science of medicine and help prepare students for medical school and other healthcare careers.
