A teen has reportedly drowned at Breaks Interstate Park.
The 19-year-old from Hurley, Virginia, was with a group of friends at Ratliff Hole off Russell Fork when they realized they had not seen him.
The Breaks Park Superintendent tells WYMT that first responders came from the Breaks, Elkhorn City Fire, Elkhorn City Police, Millard Fire and Rescue, Kentucky State Police, and others with boats and sonar and found Zack Mullins’ body about 2 hours later.
Officials say while very popular, Russell Fork is also dangerous because the speed of the water can change drastically from day to day.
