You’ll soon be able to get WiFi at Fishpond Lake.
The Letcher County Fiscal Court has approved installation of wireless internet around the lake which will be done by Eastern Telephone.
The Mountain Eagle reports it will be done in two phases, first for the picnic area, the caretaker’s trailer, and dam area and second for the RV park, the Boy Scout Camp and part of the back side of the lake.
Those two phases will reportedly cost around $16,000.
Officials say it not only adds to the enjoyment but also to safety. They may eventually add a third phase to cover more of the lake area.
