Virginia State Police are investigating a head-on car crash on Sunday in which a Wise County woman was killed. It happened on Northbound Route 23 in Wise when two SUV’s collided. VSP says Marlene Gilliam of Wise suffered serious injuries and died at a hospital while Amy Ruff of Coeburn remains in the hospital with serious injuries.
