An out of state woman has been sentenced to two years in prison on federal charges of conspiracy to distribute oxycodone and methadone that targeted Perry County patients.
Judith Harskey was sentenced Tuesday after investigators said from 2019 through 2022 she conspired with others to distribute the drugs while working as a receptionist at the Midwest Physician Pain Center in Chicago which had numerous Perry County patients regularly traveling there so they could avoid seeing a doctor.
The US Attorney’s office says she used prescription pads previously signed by an absent physician and a raid of the clinic in November 2022 turned up hundreds of the pre-signed prescriptions.
