Donations Help Perry County Family Create Flood Memorial

A Perry County family is creating a memorial to all Eastern Kentuckians who lost their lives in the July 2022 flood. Ronda Crawford’s 18-year-old son Aaron died in the flood. She tells WYMT she felt compelled to do something to honor those who were lost and remember how everyone pulled together. Ronda’s daughter Rachel designed a memorial and Perry County Sheriff Joe Engle worked to help them find donors to cover the $14,200 cost. Hindman Monuments is building it and they hope to unveil it this July.
