Fleming Neon Mayor Says Plan To Upgrade Water System Could Take Years

The Mayor of Fleming-Neon says while there’s a plan in place to upgrade the water system, it could be a few years before everyone in the city sees the improvement and it could be a bumpy road until it’s all done. The Mountain Eagle reports at this week’s city council meeting, Ricky Burke emphasized that many of the city’s water lines are more than 40 years old and have a lot of patches. He says the upgrade plan will take six years and there will be planned and unplanned water outages as parts are replaced.
