PMC Set To Receive $10 Million in State Money For Upgrades

Pikeville Medical Center officials are anxiously waiting for Gov. Andy Beshear to sign the biennial budget bill as they have about $10 million dollars on the line for some upgrades and expansions. The Hazard Herald reports the funding would cover an expansion of the psychiatric and mental health ward and renovations of the intensive care unit, obstetrics/labor/delivery unit, and the obstetrics operating room. PMC had reportedly asked for more for the psychiatric program but instead has partnered with Appalachian Regional Healthcare on a psychiatric residency program.
