Floyd and Pike counties are among 12 Kentucky counties randomly selected by the Attorney General’s Office for a post-election inquiry following last month’s primary election.
Attorney General Russell Coleman announced Tuesday that investigators with the Department of Criminal Investigations will review the selected counties to determine whether any election irregularities occurred.
The inquiries are required under state law and are part of the state’s efforts to ensure election integrity. After the investigations are completed, findings will be presented to a grand jury in each county selected for review.
The Attorney General’s Election Fraud Hotline has received nearly 600 messages so far this year, including 155 on Election Day.
In addition to Floyd and Pike counties, the review will include Rowan, Oldham, Franklin, Daviess, Laurel, Adair, Scott, Union, Fulton and Carroll counties.
