The attorney for a former Letcher County teacher charged with rape has asked that his bond be reduced so he can serve his pre-trial confinement at home. Brian Bailey was indicted in February for third-degree rape of a girl under 16 and having sexually explicit images of her. WYMT reports on Wednesday his attorney asked for Bailey’s current $250,000 bond to be reduced to a property bond. But the Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney argued that people who have been released under home incarceration with sexual offenses often try to reach out to the alleged victim. Judge James Craft said he would review the bond request. Bailey remains in the Letcher County Jail.
