Former Pikeville Psychiatrist Pleads Guilty To Drug Prescription Charges

A former Pikeville shrink faces the possibility of up to 20 years in prison for prescribing drugs to someone who didn’t need them. Jason Stamper has reportedly pleaded guilty and admitted to prescribing Ritalin and Adderall to an undercover DEA agent six times in 2022. Mountain Top News reports on his first visit the undercover cop told Stamper he needed something to give him “a kick in the britches”. He then kept returning saying it wasn’t working anymore after which Stamper would allegedly up the dosages, with only minimal medical exams and no blood tests in five visits.
