Iva Lee Cook Meade  

Iva Lee Cook Meade, age 91, of Millstone, passed away on Saturday, March,16th 2024 at her residence.

She is survived by 3 sisters: Dorothy, Wilma Jean and Teresa and 2 brothers, James Ralph Cook and Roy Cook.

Funeral services for Iva Lee Cook Meade will be held at 12:00 noon tomorrow, Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Craft and Buddy Sexton officiating. 

Visitation will be from 6:00-10:00pm this evening, Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the Letcher Funeral Home Chapel. 

Burial will follow in the Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

David “Speedy” Caudill

David “Speedy” Caudill, age 72, of Letcher passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Hazard ARH. 

He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn (Jackie) Caudill; 2 sons: Daniel Caudill of Big Stone Gap, Virginia and Stephen Caudill of Jenkins; 2 daughters: Charity Bader of Simi Valley, California and Lisa Craft of Burlington, KY; 2 granddaughters and one grandson; 4 brothers: Roger Shultz of Nicholasville, Gary Caudill, William Caudill, and Martin Joe Caudill all of Blackey; 3 sisters: Nancy Armstrong of Lancaster, KY, Virginia Hager of Nicholasville and Teresa Wise of Wilmore along with special friend Alan Bates of Blackey.

Funeral services for David “Speedy” Caudill will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Letcher Independent Baptist Church with Bill Jones and Alan Bates officiating. 

Visitation will be from 6:00-10:00pm Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Letcher Independent Baptist Church. 

Burial will follow in the W.J. Caudill Cemetery at Blackey.

Danny Sharpey

Danny Sharpey, age 74, of Fleming Neon, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Pikeville Medical Center.

Dorothy Ann Brown

Dorothy Ann Brown, age 76, of Jenkins, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehab Center in Cumberland.  

Arrangements for Dorothy Ann Brown are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by the Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg.  

Larry Neal Amburgey

Larry Neal Amburgey, age 73, of Whitesburg, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Advent Healthcare Center in Manchester.

He is survived by 1 son: Michael Amburgey of Hazard; 1 daughter: Tanya Lane of Lexington; 2 brothers: Phil Amburgey of Alabama and Jay Amburgey of Florida; 1 step-son: Casey Breeding of Whitesburg; 1 step-daughter: Henrietta Hensley of Mayking; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service for Larry Neal Amburgey will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Combs Cemetery at Ermine with Tony Brown officiating.

Belva Ann Rose Mullins

Belva Ann Rose Mullins, age 72, of Jenkins, passed away on Thursday March 14, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband: David Mullins of Jenkins; 2 sons: David Dwayne Mullins of Bean Station, TN and Robert Acie Mullins of Payne Gap; 6 grandchildren; 6 sisters: Dorothy Mae Vernatter of Somerset, KY,  Joyce Adkins of Columbus, IN, Alice Lockwood of Payne Gap,  Rebecca Jo Brown of Jenkins, Vanessa Dale Rose of Jenkins and Freda Rogers of Pikeville; 4 brothers: Walter Rose of Morristown, TN, Gary Don Rose of Payne Gap, Wendell Rose of Jenkins and Gerald Rose of Pikeville and sisters-in-law Margaret Rose and Nina Rose. 

Graveside services for Belva Ann Rose Mullins will be held at 12 Noon today, Tuesday March 19, 2024 at the Mullins Family Cemetery in the Payne Gap section of Jenkins.

Glenn Edward Miles

Glenn Edward Miles, age 63 of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, March 16th, 2024, at the Harlan ARH.

He is survived by his wife: Sheila Hodge Miles; 2 sons: Chris Miles of Cumberland and Matt Miles of Owensboro; 2 grandchildren; 4 brothers: Eddie Wayne Miles of Hazard, Teddy Miles of Harlan, Claude Miles, Jr., of Cumberland and Lonnie Miles of Barbourville and 1 sister: Theresia Foster of Putney.  

Visitation will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, March 20th, 2024, at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home in Cumberland.  

Funeral Services for Glenn Edward Miles will follow at 1:00pm Wednesday at the Cumberland Valley Funeral Home with Glenn Cornett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Westlawn Cemetery at Cumberland.

Wilma Jean Jones

Wilma Jean Jones, age 88, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024. 

She is survived by her children: Madonna Haines of Cumberland, David Jones of Michigan, IN, Sherry Green of Columbus, IN and Russell Jones of Knoxville, TN; siblings: Janice Tyree of Cumberland, Stephen Miles of Cumberland, Cecil Miles of Portage, IN and James Miles of Blair; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Visitation will be from 11:00am-3:00pm Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Tri City Pentecostal Church in Cumberland.

Funeral services for Wilma Jean Jones will follow at 3:00pm Thursday at the Tri City Pentecostal Church in Cumberland with Billy Lewis officiating.

Burial will follow in the Peaceful Acres Cemetery.

Shirley Johnson

Shirley Johnson, age 85, of Marshalls Branch, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at her residence. 

She is survived by her husband: Kenneth Earl Johnson; 1 son: Eric Johnson of Marshalls Branch; 2 daughters: Shannon Kiser of Caney and Pam Fleming of Pikeville; 3 brothers: Ronnie Hampton of Marshalls Branch, David Hampton of Marshalls Branch and Juble Hampton of Long Fork; 3 sisters: Lois Roemer of New York, Sheila Edmonds of Pikeville and Gaye Johnson of Knoxville, TN, 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services for Shirley Johnson will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home with Jerry Damron, Tony Bentley and others officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery at Shelbiana. 

Visitation will begin this evening, Tuesday, after 6:00PM with services at 7:00PM.
