A Pikeville Medical Center employee whose family had reported her missing has been found dead inside her car after she apparently crashed into the Big Sandy River. Mountain Top News reports Vanessa Crum of Van Lear was last seen leaving for work Sunday morning but never arrived for her shift at PMC. Pikeville Police tracked her cell phone and found her car in the river. Kentucky State Police are now investigating but it appears she went off U.S. 23 over an embankment and into the River.
