Letcher Central Takes Care Of Knott County in 3 Innings

The Letcher County Central Lady  Cougar softball team had 16 hits in the game and picked up the 15-0 home district 3 inning win over Knott County Central last night.  

Pitcher Scarlett Stamper got the shutout win, going all 3 innings, giving up just 2 hits with 7 strikeouts.  

With the win the Lady Cougars improve to 11-9. 

Later this week, Letcher County Central will host, the Mountain Strong Softball Tournament.

It all starts Thursday night and is held is to honor our Mountain friends and neighbors that suffered during the flood of 2022. 

Teams playing will be LCC, Harlan County, Harlan Independent, Clay County, Shelby Valley and Belfry. 

There will be 1 game Thursday night, 2 games Friday night and 5 games Saturday starting at 10am. 

The Jenkins Lady Cavaliers softball will next play at Twin Valley VA this evening.
